Zoom Meeting
It's election season! All local union members are invited to attend the membership meeting on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. Members in good standing who attend this meeting may be nominated for an Area Local elective office for the 2023-2026 term, but attendance is not mandatory for a nomination to be submitted and accepted.
Nominations will be accepted for the February 2023 membership meeting at the date, time, and online forum indicated above for the following elective offices: President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, Clerk Division Director, Maintenance Division Director, Motor Vehicle Division Director, and Chief Steward of the following thirty-four (34) locations — Anaheim Plant, Anaheim Stations, Atwood, Brea, Buena Park, Corona Del Mar, Costa Mesa, Cypress, Dana Point, El Toro, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, La Habra, La Mirada, Los Alamitos, Montebello, Newport Beach, Norwalk, Orange, Pico Rivera, Placentia, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana Plant, Santa Ana Stations, Stanton, Sunset Beach, Trabuco Canyon, Tustin, Westminster, and Yorba Linda.
All nominations must be accepted verbally or in writing prior to the close of the February General Meeting. A self-nomination form may be mailed to:

but must be received at the designated P.O. Box by February 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. The form may also be submitted to the Election Committee by email to: swcalelectioncommittee2023@gmail.com. Faxes may be sent to (714) 666-
1701. The emails and faxes must also be received by February 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.
In order to be nominated for office in this Area Local, a candidate must have been a member in good standing in the American Postal Workers Union for a period of at least one (1) year immediately prior to nomination.
Candidates for Division Director positions must be members of the craft they seek to represent, and they must be nominated and elected only by members of their specific craft.
Candidates for Chief Steward must be employed in the office they wish to represent and may only be nominated and elected by members of that specific installation.
The President, Vice President or any fully paid officer of the local may not hold nor run for another elected office in the Southwest Coastal Area Local. The President, Vice-President, Secretary-Treasurer, Clerk Director, Maintenance Director, and Motor Vehicle Director are automatically delegates of the Area Local to APWU conventions.
The election will be conducted by secret ballot starting on Monday, March 6, 2023. The election will occur during a twenty-four (24) day period. Ballots will be counted on Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Note that audio and video in the Zoom meeting are, by default, ON, so that the hosts of the meeting may be able to verify that your identity is not being used in an illicit manner.
